Undercover detectives assigned to the department’s six precincts this week charged 134 persons with mostly drug and prostitution offenses as the result of investigations in various Nashville neighborhoods.
South Precinct detectives charged 37 persons as the result of investigations on Murfreesboro Pike, Harding Place, Perkins Street, and Lewis Street. Seized were 53.7 grams of cocaine, 241.6 grams of marijuana, 300 Hydrocodone pills, one weapon, two vehicles, and $1,315 cash.
West Precinct detectives charged 24 persons as the result of investigations on 23rd Avenue North, Charlotte Pike, Jefferson Street at 8th Avenue North, Elliston Place, 12th Avenue South at Wedgewood Avenue, 16th Avenue North at Ireland Street, Twin Oaks Drive, Henry Ford Drive, Booker Street, and Felicia Street. Seized were 38 ounces of cocaine, 3 ½ ounces of marijuana, two vehicles, two weapons, 54 various pills, and $93,873 cash.
Hermitage Precinct detectives charged 20 persons as the result of investigations on Murfreesboro Pike, Fesslers Lane, and Claiborne Street at 4th Avenue South. Seized were 36 grams of cocaine, 6 grams of marijuana, one weapon, one vehicle, and $750 cash.
North Precinct detectives charged 18 persons as the result of investigations on North Dupont Avenue, Buchanan Street, 25th Avenue North, Buena Vista Pike, Old Matthews Road, Liberia Street, Kassia Street, Doverside Drive, Gallatin Pike, and Trinity Lane. Seized were 93 grams of cocaine, 8.4 pounds of marijuana, 11 various pills, three weapons, one vehicle, and $2,198 cash.
East Precinct detectives charged 26 persons as the result of investigations on Wesley Avenue, Dickerson Pike, Upland Drive, South 9th Street, Pittway Drive at Trinity Lane, Granada Avenue at Apex Street, South 5th Street at Lenore Street, South 6th Street at Shelby Avenue, and Interstate 65 near Metro Center. Seized were 32 grams of cocaine, 303 grams of marijuana, 7 Dilaudid pills, one vehicle, and $2,152 cash.
Central Precinct detectives charged nine persons as the result of investigations on North 1st Street at Oldham Street, Bellshire Terrace, and Creekwood Drive. Seized were 56 grams of cocaine, 283 grams of marijuana, 138 various pills, four weapons, three vehicles, and $861 cash.
Persons suspecting drug activity in their neighborhoods are urged to call the police department's 244-DOPE hotline. Callers to the hotline can remain anonymous.
