Accused murderer Antoine Kirby today surrendered himself to Metro Fugitive Detective Jerry Bottom and Warrants Officer Chuck Hagar outside a Charlotte Avenue fast food restaurant. Kirby telephoned Bottom and said he wanted to surrender, apparently at the prompting of his family. Officers had talked to Kirby’s family members on Wednesday and stressed the importance of finding him.
Kirby, of Phillips Street, is charged with criminal homicide and especially aggravated robbery in connection with the April 6 drug-related shooting death of Jonathan Overstreet on Weaver Drive at School Lane. Kirby is being held without bond pending a hearing.
