FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

April 25, 2007

The Gang Unit Tuesday evening arrested two adults in connection with an attack on a student at Glencliff High School earlier in the day.

Zarko Novakovic, 19, of Rychen Drive, and Chia Silveani, 19, of Leopole Road, are charged with assault, disorderly conduct, and aggravated criminal trespassing in connection with the beating of a 17-year-old student in a second floor hallway of the school. Silveani is a former Glencliff student. Novakovic has never been associated with the school.

A 17-year-old Glencliff student was arrested shortly after the fight and is charged in juvenile court with assault.

Two other 16-year-old Glencliff students have been identified as taking part in the fight and juvenile court petitions have been filed against them.

The 17-year-old victim is alleged to have made a comment disrespecting Zana Noroly who hanged himself Monday night inside his cell at the Juvenile Detention Center. Noroly was being held in connection with a February home invasion in Donelson.

The three Glencliff students charged in the case left campus and apparently discussed the victim’s remarks with the two adults and all five returned to the school.
