The 17-year-old charged last Wednesday with aggravated rape, especially aggravated kidnapping and multiple counts of aggravated robbery in connection with a February home invasion in Donelson hanged himself during the night inside a cell at the Juvenile Detention Center.
Zana Abdulgad Noroly was found at 12:20 a.m. by detention center staff. Attempts were made to revive him and he was rushed by ambulance to General Hospital where he was pronounced dead shortly after 1 a.m.
Noroly, who was assigned to administrative segregation inside a single cell, fastened a sheet to his bed and hanged himself. He did leave a suicide note.
