Metro police this afternoon arrested a 15-year-old former Apollo Middle School student for telephoning the school on Sunday and leaving a bomb threat on the librarian’s voice mail. The message also included a profane reference to the 15-year-old’s drug-related arrest last May by Apollo School Resource Officer Kirk Roncskevitz.
Following the discovery of the voice mail this morning, the school was evacuated. An unclaimed and, as it turned out, unrelated book bag was found on the school’s front lawn. The police department’s Bomb Squad responded and found that the book bag was harmless.
The bomb threat was traced back to the 15-year-old’s phone. He was arrested without incident at his Hamilton Church Road home by Officer Roncskevitz. The teen is not currently enrolled in a Metro school.
