FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

April 11, 2007

The man killed in last night’s motorcycle-car collision at the intersection of Nolensville Pike and Glenrose Avenue is identified as Michael Bushnell, 36, of Harding Place.

Bushnell was riding a 1981 Honda motorcycle northbound on Nolensville Pike at 11:15 p.m. when he collided with a 1999 Nissan Sentra driven by Rosa I. Ramon Lara, 20, of Keystone Avenue. Lara was stopped at a flashing red light on Glenrose Avenue when she turned left onto Nolensville Pike, resulting in the motorcycle colliding with the Sentra. Bushnell was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center where he died early this morning. He was wearing a helmet.

The accident appears to be the fault of both drivers; Lara for failure to yield and Bushnell for excessive speed for road/weather conditions
