Coordinated efforts by South Precinct patrol officers, Sex Crimes Unit detectives, concerned citizens, and members of the United States Marshal’s Fugitive Task Force, led to the arrest today of a man wanted for violation of the Sex Offender Registry. Dale Wasserman was convicted in 2000 of gross sexual imposition for a crime committed against a woman in Cleveland, Ohio.
Wasserman, 49, was apprehended near Hickory Hollow Mall.
A warrant for Wasserman’s arrest was issued March 21. Wasserman’s speedy arrest is a strong example of local and federal agencies working together with concerned citizens.
Sex offenders residing in Davidson County who fail to register as required by state law are routinely identified and prosecuted by members of the Metro Police Department’s Sex Crimes Unit.
