The teenager killed in Tuesday night’s three-vehicle collision on Lebanon Pike at Highland View is identified as Josh Lehman, 15, of Overridge Court.
Lehman was seated in the rear passenger side of a Hyundai driven by Layla Luke, 35, of Hermitage, Tennessee. Luke was driving west on Lebanon Pike when she attempted to turn left onto Highland View Drive. An Isuzu Rodeo, driven by Michael Cole, 26, of Rolling Mill Road, collided with the passenger side of Luke’s car. The Hyundai spun and crashed into a Honda Accord that was waiting on Highland View Drive to turn onto Lebanon Pike.
Luke’s son, James Jillson, 15, was the front seat passenger and was taken to Vanderbilt University with critical injuries. Lehman was pronounced dead at the scene. Both teenagers were wearing their seatbelts.
There were no other injuries in the accident.
Luke’s failure to yield to oncoming traffic appears to be the contributing factor to this fatal crash.
