Metro Police patch

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

March 26, 2007

East Precinct officers today arrested a copper thief for cutting wire from utility poles in the area of North 12th Street and Gartland Avenue.

Isaac Owens, Jr., 50, of Mountain View Road, admitted to cutting wire from four different poles. Nashville Electric Service representatives were contacted, inspected the amount of copper in Owens possession, and determined that as many as 20 poles were affected.

Owens is charged with felony utility line destruction/interference and theft of property.
