Undercover detectives assigned to the department’s six precincts this week charged 96 persons with mostly drug and prostitution offenses as the result of investigations in various Nashville neighborhoods.
East Precinct detectives charged 13 persons as the result of investigations on Lucile Street, Fern Avenue, North 5th and 7th Streets, Crockett Street, Jones Avenue, Dickerson Pike, North 2nd Street, South 6th and South 7th Streets, 4th Avenue North, Shelby Avenue, Lillian Street, Norton Avenue, Grizzard Avenue, Rosedale Avenue, and South 15th Street. Seized were 4.3 grams of cocaine, two Dilaudid pills, a vehicle, and $345 cash.
South Precinct detectives charged six persons as the result of investigations on Tampa Drive, Harding Place, and the Murfreesboro Pike area. Seized were 42 grams of cocaine, 3.1 pounds of marijuana, and one gun.
West Precinct detectives charged 32 persons as the result of investigations on 21st Avenue North at Herman Street, the 2300 block of Hermitage Park Drive, the 1000 block of Southside Court, 46th Avenue North, 21st Avenue North at Jefferson Street, Morrow Road at Charlotte Avenue, Paulawood Drive, South 4th Street at Shelby Avenue, and 14th Avenue South at Horton Avenue. Seized were 162.3 grams of cocaine, 103 pounds of marijuana, 24 various scheduled pills, two vehicles, and $212 cash.
Hermitage Precinct detectives charged 20 persons as the result of investigations on Murfreesboro Pike, Lafayette Street, Parris Avenue, Millwood Drive, Elm Hill Pike, and 2nd Avenue South. Seized were nine grams of cocaine, 121 grams of marijuana, 190 various pills, one gun, and $626 cash.
North Precinct detectives charged 24 persons as the result of investigations on Brick Church Pike, Trinity Lane, Buena Vista Pike, 40th Avenue North, Rio Vista Drive, South Gallatin Pike, and 28th Avenue North. Seized were 12.7 ounces of cocaine, 32.4 grams of marijuana, 14 various pills, one weapon, four vehicles, and $3,720 cash.
Central Precinct detectives charged one person as the result of investigations on 6th Avenue North and Hume Street. Seized were seven ounces of cocaine, one vehicle, and $541 cash.
Persons suspecting drug activity in their neighborhoods are urged to call the police department's 244-DOPE hotline. Callers to the hotline can remain anonymous.
