Sixteen-year-old murder suspect William Allen Sawyers, who is charged in a Juvenile Court arrest order with the March 11 shooting death of Jose Flores on Joseph Avenue, surrendered himself this afternoon at Juvenile Court.
Detectives have information that Sawyers was the gunman in Flores’ murder.
Flores was fatally wounded during an attempted robbery at his 868 Joseph Avenue home. Four other teenagers, Chrisantoney Woods, 16, Terrence Simpson, 16, Antwan Whitehead, 15, and Chris Northern, 17, were charged Friday with criminal homicide.
Sawyers will remain in custody pending a hearing.
