Undercover detectives assigned to four of the department’s six precincts this week charged 70 persons with mostly drug and prostitution offenses as the result of investigations in various Nashville neighborhoods.
South Precinct detectives charged seven persons as the result of investigations on Rice Road, Murfreesboro Pike, and Collins Park Drive. Seized were 38.5 grams of cocaine, 49.5 grams of marijuana, and $646.00 cash.
West Precinct detectives charged 18 persons as the result of investigations at 16th Avenue North and Jo Johnston Avenue, 28th Avenue North and Clifton Avenue, 17th Avenue North and Patterson Street, the 100 block of Old Hickory Boulevard, and Elgin Street. Seized were 27.5 grams of cocaine, 30 pounds of marijuana, and one vehicle.
Hermitage Precinct detectives charged 18 persons as the result of investigations on Murfreesboro Pike, McGavock Pike, Lincoy Bay Drive, and Lebanon Pike. Seized were 60 grams of crack, ten grams of marijuana, one weapon, one vehicle, and $760.00 cash.
North Precinct detectives charged 27 persons as the result of investigations on Knowles Street, Myatt Drive, Underwood Street, Kentucky Avenue, Connare Drive, Westchester Drive, and Fairview Road. Seized were 3.8 ounces of cocaine, 38 grams of marijuana, 52 various pills, six weapons, two vehicles, and $360.00 cash.
Persons suspecting drug activity in their neighborhoods are urged to call the police department's 244-DOPE hotline. Callers to the hotline can remain anonymous.
