A bench warrant has been issued for Tyrone Overton, 23, of Straightway Avenue, for failure to appear in court and forfeiture of bond. Overton is charged with three counts of criminal homicide for fatally shooting three people inside an apartment at the James Cayce public housing development in 2002. He failed to appear in court Monday to stand trial for murder.
Overton had been in custody since his arrest in January of 2002, but posted a $300,000 dollar bond February 2. Anyone with information on Overton’s whereabouts is asked to call the Emergency Communications Center at 862-8600.
