
Undercover detectives assigned to the department’s six precincts this week charged 117 persons with mostly drug and prostitution offenses as the result of investigations in various Nashville neighborhoods.
East Precinct detectives charged 11 persons as the result of investigations at North 2nd Street and Evanston Avenue, Flamingo Drive, North 7th Street and Main Street, and Riverside Drive at Porter Road. Seized were 6.3 grams of cocaine and 33 grams marijuana.
South Precinct detectives charged 17 persons as the result of investigations on Bell Road, Murfreesboro Pike, and Claiborne Street. Seized were 68.2 grams of cocaine, six grams of marijuana, and $670.00 cash.
West Precinct detectives charged 30 persons as the result of investigations in the 1300 block of the Meharry Boulevard, the 1800 block of Jefferson Street, White Bridge Pike, 6200 Laredo Avenue, and 14th Avenue North at Charlotte Avenue. Seized were 34.4 grams of cocaine, 218 grams of marijuana, 48 Valium, five Hydrocodone, 300 Schedule III tablets, one weapon, and $649.00 cash.
Hermitage Precinct detectives charged ten persons as the result of investigations on Murfreesboro Pike, Andrew Jackson Parkway, Commerce Street, and Lebanon Pike. Seized were five grams of crack, two grams of marijuana, 12 various pills, and one vehicle.
North Precinct detectives charged 33 persons as the result of investigations on Knight Drive, Argyle Avenue, Elliston Street, Trinity Lane, Rowan Court, Dr. D.B. Todd Boulevard, Tempany Court, Neelys Bend Road, and 40th Avenue North. Seized were 13.2 ounces of cocaine, 2.1 pounds of marijuana, one Ecstasy pill, three vehicles, one weapon, and $7,637.00 cash.
Central Precinct detectives charged 16 persons as the result of investigations at North 1st Street and Oldham Street, and 9th Avenue North at Jefferson Street. Seized were five grams of marijuana and $290.00 cash.
Persons suspecting drug activity in their neighborhoods are urged to call the police department's 244-DOPE hotline. Callers to the hotline can remain anonymous.
