Chief Ronal Serpas today announced the promotion of one new captain, two new lieutenants, and 25 new sergeants to fill supervisory vacancies in various police department components.
“The 28 persons being promoted today are highly dedicated, exceptional individuals who are committed to the safety of Nashville, its families, and guests,” Chief Ronal Serpas said.
The 28 persons are:
- New Captain Eric Snyder, a 15-year police department veteran who most recently led the Central Precinct’s day shift. He will now supervise the Metropolitan Park Police.
- New Lieutenant Jason Starling, a 9-year police department veteran who most recently supervised the East Precinct’s afternoon shift Flex team. He will now lead the Central Precinct’s day shift.
- New Lieutenant William Watkins, a 9-year police department veteran who most recently served on the South Precinct’s overnight shift. He will now lead the Hermitage Precinct’s overnight shift.
- New Sergeant Jeff Bauer, a 14-year police department veteran who most recently served on the North Precinct’s overnight shift. He will now be a supervisor on the South Precinct’s overnight shift.
- New Sergeant Doug Bell, a 7-year police department veteran who most recently served on the Hermitage Precinct’s Flex team. He will now be a supervisor on the East Precinct’s overnight shift.
- New Sergeant Greg Blair, a 9-year police department veteran who most recently served as the South Precinct’s crime analysis officer. He will now be a supervisor on the East Precinct’s day shift.
- New Sergeant Preston Brandimore, a 7-year police department veteran who most recently served as a narcotics detective in the Specialized Investigations Division. He will now be a supervisor on the West Precinct’s afternoon shift.
- New Sergeant Christopher Bryant, a 6-year police department veteran who most recently served on the MDHA Task Force. He will now be a supervisor on the East Precinct’s overnight shift.
- New Sergeant Matt Chance, a 10-year police department veteran who most recently served as a gang detective in the Specialized Investigations Division. He will now be a supervisor on the East Precinct’s afternoon shift.
- New Sergeant William Denton, an 8-year police department veteran who most recently served on the Hermitage Precinct’s afternoon shift. He will now be a supervisor on the Central Precinct’s afternoon shift.
- New Sergeant Joseph Donofrio, a 9-year police department veteran who most recently served on the West Precinct’s afternoon shift. He will now be a supervisor on the East Precinct’s afternoon shift.
- New Sergeant John Drake, a 19-year police department veteran who most recently served on the West Precinct’s day shift. He will now be a supervisor on the North Precinct’s overnight shift.
- New Sergeant Michael Dudley, a 6-year police department veteran who most recently served as a member of the Aggressive Driving Unit. He will now be a supervisor on the West Precinct’s afternoon shift.
- New Sergeant Robert Durbin, a 6-year police department veteran who most recently served on the South Precinct’s day shift Flex team. He will now be a supervisor on the Hermitage Precinct’s overnight shift.
- New Sergeant Sebastian Gourdin, a 7-year police department veteran who most recently served on the East Precinct’s afternoon shift. He will now be a supervisor on the West Precinct’s afternoon shift.
- New Sergeant David Leavitt, a 12-year police department veteran who most recently served on the West Precinct’s overnight shift. He will now be a supervisor on the Central Precinct’s overnight shift.
- New Sergeant Lee Kendall, a 5-year police department veteran who most recently served on the Hermitage Precinct’s afternoon shift. He will now be a supervisor on the North Precinct’s overnight shift.
- New Sergeant Anthony McClain, a 9-year police department veteran who most recently served as a Sex Crimes detective. He will now be a supervisor on the East Precinct’s day shift.
- New Sergeant Daniel Newbern, a 6-year police department veteran who most recently served as a South Precinct detective. He will now be a supervisor on the West Precinct’s overnight shift.
- New Sergeant Jason Proctor, a 6-year police department veteran who most recently served as a West Precinct detective. He will now be a supervisor on the South Precinct’s overnight shift.
- New Sergeant Robert Smith, an 8-year police department veteran who most recently served in the Warrants Division. He will now be a supervisor on the South Precinct’s afternoon shift.
- New Sergeant Keith Stephens, a 5-year police department veteran who most recently served on the South Precinct’s Flex team. He will now be a supervisor on the Hermitage Precinct’s afternoon shift.
- New Sergeant Suzanne Stephens, an 18-year police department veteran who most recently served as a Sex Crimes detective. She will now be a supervisor on the North Precinct’s day shift.
- New Sergeant Brad Turner, a 9-year police department veteran who most recently served on the South Precinct’s overnight shift. He will now be a supervisor on the Central Precinct’s overnight shift.
- New Sergeant Chris Upchurch, a 9-year police department veteran who most recently served as a fatal crash investigator. He will now be a supervisor on the South Precinct’s overnight shift.
- New Sergeant Charles Widener, a 6-year police department veteran who most recently served as a Domestic Violence detective. He will now be a supervisor on the Hermitage Precinct’s overnight shift.
- New Sergeant Kenneth Walburn, a 7-year police department veteran who most recently served on the Hermitage Precinct’s afternoon shift. He will now be a supervisor on the East Precinct’s afternoon shift.
- New Sergeant Joe Winter, a 6-year police department veteran who most recently served as a South Precinct detective. He will now be a supervisor on the North Precinct’s afternoon shift.
