Metro Police patch

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

February 2, 2007

The body found early today in a burning KIA minivan is believed to be that of Paula Lanz, 39, who was listed as a missing person in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania on Thursday. Positive identification of the body will be made through dental records.

The KIA, which is registered to Lanz, was driven onto the parking lot of a trucking company near 6400 Centennial Boulevard sometime after midnight. Metro firefighters responded to the vehicle fire at 2 a.m. The body was found as the blaze was being extinguished.

The fire appeared to have been intentionally set. Foul play is suspected in Lanz’s death; however, it is not known whether she died in Nashville or elsewhere. North Precinct detectives are pursuing leads, as are authorities in the Pittsburgh area.
