Undercover detectives assigned to the department’s six precincts this week charged 93 persons with mostly drug and prostitution offenses as the result of investigations in various Nashville neighborhoods.

East Precinct detectives charged 15 persons as the result of investigations on North 2nd Street at Evanston Avenue, Grace Street at North 2nd Street, and Brick Church Pike at Ewing Lane. Seized were 27.7 grams of cocaine, 17.3 grams of marijuana, 27 Dilaudid pills, two vehicles, and $2,534 cash.

South Precinct detectives charged eight persons as the result of investigations on Elberta Street, Murfreesboro Pike, Wallace Road, Garden Street, and Claiborne Street. Seized were 17 grams of cocaine.

West Precinct detectives charged 23 persons as the result of investigations on Merry Street, 16th Avenue North at Herman Street, the 500 block of Newton Avenue, 12th Avenue South at Wade Avenue, the 3100 block of Bell Road, and the 1600 block of Demonbreun Street. Seized were 9.2 ounces of cocaine, 25 pounds of marijuana, one gram of heroin, 18 Lortab pills, 24 Vicodin, 43 weapons, five vehicles, and $850 cash.

Hermitage Precinct detectives charged 15 persons as the result of investigations on Murfreesboro Pike, 2nd Avenue South, Thompson Lane, and Hillside Avenue. Seized were 88 grams of cocaine, five guns, and $6,225 cash.

North Precinct detectives charged 28 persons as the result of investigations on Myatt Drive, Gallatin Road, Buena Vista Pike, 40th Avenue North, Morrow Road, 11th Avenue North, Coffee Street, Dr. D.B. Todd Jr. Boulevard, and Scovel Street. Seized were 140.4 grams of cocaine, five grams of marijuana, and $150 cash.

Central Precinct detectives charged four persons as the result of investigations on 1st Avenue North. Seized were one vehicle and $200 cash.

Persons suspecting drug activity in their neighborhoods are urged to call the police department's 244-DOPE hotline. Callers to the hotline can remain anonymous.
