
Undercover detectives assigned to the department’s six precincts this week charged 85 persons with mostly drug and prostitution offenses as the result of investigations in various Nashville neighborhoods.
East Precinct detectives charged 16 persons as the result of investigations on North 2nd Street at Hancock Street, Jones Avenue at Chickasaw Avenue, Meridian Street at Gatewood Avenue, and South 10th Street at Shelby Avenue. Seized were .5 grams of cocaine, .1 gram marijuana,, and one weapon.
South Precinct detectives charged 13 persons as the result of investigations on Peachtree Street, Murfreesboro Pike, Harding Place, Wallace Road, and Claiborne Street. Seized were 36 grams of cocaine and 100 various pills.
West Precinct detectives charged 16 persons as the result of investigations in the 1600 block of Patterson Street, 600 Westboro Drive, Whitebridge Pike, Stevenson Street, Susannah Court, Division Street, and Acklen Avenue. Seized were 9.5 ounces of cocaine, eight ounces of marijuana, three OxyCodone pills, two weapons, and $10,000.00 cash.
Hermitage Precinct detectives charged 14 persons as the result of investigations on Murfreesboro Pike, 2nd Avenue South, Thompson Lane, and Charles E. Davis Boulevard. Nineteen grams of cocaine were seized.
North Precinct detectives charged 21 persons as the result of investigations on Jefferson Street, Indiana Avenue, Joseph Avenue, Bubbling Well Road, May Drive, Trinity Lane, Richmond Hill Drive, and Weakley Avenue. Seized were 22.8 grams of cocaine, 14 grams of marijuana, six ecstasy pills, 31 various pills, seven weapons, two vehicles, and $8,702.00 cash.
Central Precinct detectives charged five persons during a business check at the House of Thrills. Seized were 13 grams of marijuana, 8.7 grams of methamphetamine, four Ecstasy pills, and one vehicle.
Persons suspecting drug activity in their neighborhoods are urged to call the police department's 244-DOPE hotline. Callers to the hotline can remain anonymous.
