Undercover detectives assigned to the department’s six precincts this week charged 81 persons with mostly drug and prostitution offenses as the result of investigations in various Nashville neighborhoods.

East Precinct detectives charged 17 persons as the result of investigations on North 2nd Street at Hancock Street, South 6th Street at Sylvan Street, Straightway Avenue at Chapel Avenue, and Meridian Street at Grace Street. Seized were 4.4 grams of cocaine and one pill.

South Precinct detectives charged six persons as the result of investigations on Thomas Street, Murfreesboro Pike, Claiborne Street, and Wallace Road. Seized were 15 grams of cocaine and seven OxyContin pills.

West Precinct detectives charged 23 persons as the result of investigations in the 700 block of Croley Drive, the 1900 block of Cephas Street, Leslie Avenue, Deal Avenue, the 1200 block of 14th Avenue South, and 14th Avenue South at Horton Avenue. Seized were five ounces of cocaine, 40 ounces of marijuana, 26 Valium, 27 Xanax, a quantity of LSD, one weapon, and $891.00 cash.

Hermitage Precinct detectives charged 21 persons as the result of investigations on Murfreesboro Pike, Donelson Pike, Cameron Court, Claiborne Street, Blanchard Place, and Hadleys Bend Boulevard. Seized were 27 grams of cocaine, 21 grams of marijuana, 142 pills, two poker machines, one vehicle, two weapons, and $800.00 cash.

North Precinct detectives charged 14 persons as the result of investigations on Archwood Drive, 61st Avenue North, Pennsylvania Avenue, Myatt Drive, Richmond Hill Drive, Brick Church Pike, 16th Avenue North, Heiman Street, and Underwood Street. Seized were 136.7 grams of cocaine, 12 grams of marijuana, and $1,797.00 cash.

Persons suspecting drug activity in their neighborhoods are urged to call the police department's 244-DOPE hotline. Callers to the hotline can remain anonymous.
