A single-vehicle accident claimed the life of a 16-year-old Madison girl Tuesday night. Virginia Lee Moore, of Menees Lane, was driving her 1995 Toyota Camry east in the 1700 block of Neelys Bend Road at 9:40 p.m. when she swerved to miss a dead skunk. She was unable to regain control of her car and hit a tree. The teenager was the only passenger and died on impact.
Investigators say the cause of the fatal crash was Moore’s failure to maintain control of her vehicle.
