FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

January 5, 2007

Officers are investigating an apparent murder-suicide at a home in West Nashville.

Detectives believe Brian Creavalle, 27, shot and killed his 24-year-old girlfriend before shooting himself inside his home at 203 Oceola Avenue. Efforts are underway to notify the woman’s relatives, who live out of state.

Investigators learned that Creavalle telephoned his estranged wife late this morning to tell her goodbye. He told her that he had done something bad, and asked her to tell his family members that he loved them. Creavalle’s neighbors said they heard noises coming from the home between 10:30 a.m.-11:30 a.m. Officers believe those noises were likely muffled gunshots.

Creavalle’s estranged wife, who separated from him more than a year ago, telephoned police at 2 p.m. and asked that officers accompany her to his home to check on his welfare. As officers cleared the home, they discovered the woman dead in the living room. Creavalle was dead in the bathroom.

Friends of Creavalle told police that he had recently talked of being depressed.
