Undercover detectives assigned to the department’s six precincts this week charged 77 persons with mostly drug and prostitution offenses as the result of investigations in various Nashville neighborhoods.

East Precinct detectives and Flex officers charged 19 persons as the result of investigations on North 2nd Street at Hancock Street, South 6th Street at Sylvan Street, Straightway Avenue at Chapel Avenue, and Meridian Street at Grace Street. Seized were two grams of cocaine, one gram of marijuana, and 16 various pills.

South Precinct detectives charged seven persons as the result of investigations on Tampa Drive, Bell Road, 3rd Avenue South, Garden Street, and Wallace Road. Seized were four grams of cocaine, two grams of marijuana, one vehicle, and 17 various pills.

West Precinct detectives charged 24 persons as the result of investigations in the 600 block of American Road, the 3700 block of Charlotte Avenue, 28th Avenue North at Clifton Avenue, 25th Avenue North, Merry Street, the 5900 block of O’Brien Avenue, the 1800 block of Jefferson Street, the 900 block of 16th Avenue North, the 700 block of 28th Avenue North, Dr. D.B. Todd Jr. Boulevard, 27th Avenue North, and 14th Avenue North at Herman Street. Seized were 27 grams of cocaine, two grams of marijuana, 100 Ecstasy pills, one vehicle, and $1,435.00 cash.

Hermitage Precinct detectives charged six persons as the result of investigations on Murfreesboro Pike and Rio Vista Drive. Seized were 13 grams of cocaine.

North Precinct detectives charged 18 persons as the result of investigations on Forest Park Drive, North Gallatin Pike, 14th Avenue North, Dr. D.B. Todd Jr. Boulevard, Harris Street, Idlewild Avenue, Due West Avenue, Cato Road, and Highland Trace Drive. Seized were 17 grams of cocaine, three guns, four vehicles, and $7,052.00 cash.

Central Precinct detectives charged three persons as the result of investigations on 3rd Avenue South and Lafayette Street. Seized were four grams of cocaine.

Persons suspecting drug activity in their neighborhoods are urged to call the police department's 244-DOPE hotline. Callers to the hotline can remain anonymous.
