Metro police officers, including those working extra duty through a grant from the Governor’s Highway Safety Office, will be conducting a sobriety checkpoint Friday night of this week.
Friday night’s checkpoint will be in the vicinity of Murfreesboro Road and Thompson Lane between the hours of 8 p.m. and midnight.
Checkpoint locations were chosen at random as part of the police department’s ongoing effort to identify and arrest intoxicated and/or impaired drivers. Other sobriety checkpoints will be conducted in the coming weeks.
