A man fatally shot his brother in a hunting accident Wednesday morning. Thurman Langford, 63, of Georgia, and his brother Theron, 59, of White House, were on property near the Robertson County line.

The brothers had entered a wooded area across from the 100 block of East End Road about 50 to 75 feet apart from each other. Thurman told investigators he saw a deer that was between him and his brother’s position. He fired at the deer, unaware that his brother had gone deeper into the woods. The round struck Theron Langford who was pronounced dead at the scene with an apparent chest wound. An autopsy will be performed.

The shooter, Thurman Langford, was transported to Skyline Medical Center with chest pains. He was treated and released.
