Clarence Morris was last seen by Mr. Mills, the minister of the congregation on Berry Street, where he has been attending regularly for about two years. Mr. Mills advised the police that Clarence has left before, gone to other states, but has always sent a letter to him to let him know where he is and how he is doing.
Mr. Mills last saw Clarence on Thursday, March 22, 2001, when he took Clarence home after a bible study. When Mr. Mills went to pick him up for church on Sunday, March 25, he found a note advising that he had gone to work. Mr. Mills contacted the place where Clarence worked and they said that he did not work on that Sunday.
On Friday, March 30, Clarence picked up his paycheck at work. He left the building but was then confronted by a loud female who appeared to be demanding money. Clarence became frustrated, went back inside and waited for a little while, then left. This was the last time Clarence was seen. All of his belongings were left behind.
