Crime of the Week, March 11, 2008
This week Nashville Crime Stoppers is offering a reward of $1000 cash, for clues called in to 74-CRIME that help solve the murder of 61 year old James Shearon, known as Ed among friends, in West Nashville.
On Friday, January 18th, 2008 at approximately 3:10 in the morning, James Shearon and his wife were in bed in their home on Watts Terrace in west Nashville, when they heard a loud noise. Ed got up to investigate and walked into the kitchen. He encountered someone in the kitchen and shots were fired. Mrs. Shearon called 911 from the bedroom and stayed on the phone while police responded. She looked into the kitchen and saw her husband lying on the floor. Police and an ambulance soon arrived and Ed was pronounced dead at the scene from gunshot wounds.
Detectives discovered that the kitchen door had been kicked in by the killer which explained the sound that ed shearon and his wife heard.
West detectives said that Mrs. Shearon heard at least one male voice demanding that her husband tell him where their safe was. This demand leads investigators to believe that someone had inside knowledge that the Shearons had a safe in their home.
If you have information about who murdered James “Ed” Shearon in his home on Watts Terrace in west Nashville, call Crime Stoppers at 74-CRIME. If the information results in the arrest and prosecution, Nashville Crime Stoppers will pay a reward of $1000 cash.
