Crime of the Week

November 13, 2007

This week Nashville Crime Stoppers is offering a reward of $1000 cash, for clues called in to 74-CRIME that help solve the murder of 20 year old Christopher Charles Hill of Lewis Street in south Nashville.

On Monday, October 8, 2007 at approximately 1:45 in the afternoon, a man was picking up aluminum cans in the lot next to the New Testament Church of God at 1275 Lewis Street when he smelled a foul odor. He saw a large piece of plastic on the ground and looked under it. He found the decomposing body of a young man and immediately called police. The body did not have any identification on it but had on distinctive clothing that detectives broadcast on the news. Christopher’s mother saw the news and contacted police. His identity was confirmed several days later. The medical examiner ruled the cause of death as blunt trauma to the head.

Christopher’s 2004 Mitsubishi Lancer was missing and police put out a BOLO on it. Officers found the car on I-440 near Nolensville Road on October 16th. Police are not sure if it was dropped off by the killer or if someone else took the car without knowing that it belonged to a murder victim. Detectives hope that someone will come forward if they saw someone driving Christopher’s car or who dropped it off.

Detectives are also looking for a white Dodge Ram pickup with a ram hood ornament, damage to the left front turn signal and a drive out tag. This truck was driven by a person of interest named Shannon. He is a stocky male black about five feet seven inches tall. A heavy medieval club called a “mace” was hanging from the rearview mirror of the truck and could possibly be the murder weapon.

If you have information about who murdered Christopher Hill and dumped his body on Lewis Street in south Nashville, call Crime Stoppers at 74-CRIME. If the information results in the arrest and prosecution, Nashville Crime Stoppers will pay a reward of $1000 cash.
