November 6, 2007

This week Nashville crime stoppers is offering a reward of $1000 cash, for clues called in to 74-CRIME that help solve the murder of 44 year old Melissa Moores of Hermitage.

On Tuesday, September 25, 2007 around 3:30 in the morning the daughter of Melissa Moores returned to the Pinebrook apartments at 1005 Hickory Hill Lane where she shared an apartment with her mother. She walked through the door and found her mother bleeding and unresponsive. She called police and an ambulance. Melissa Moores was pronounced dead at the scene by nashville fire department emergency workers. She had been stabbed to death. While detectives were interviewing the daughter she noticed that her mother’s car was missing.

Detectives are trying to find out what happened during the hours shortly before Melissa Moores’ death and who she was with.

On October 17th Melissa Moores’ light blue, 1989 Chrysler New Yorker was found by police parked in east Nashville on North Ninth Street near the intersection of Marina Street. Detectives are not sure if the car was parked there by the killer or if the car was loaned to someone and they were unaware that it belonged to a murder victim. Detectives hope that someone who saw the car dropped off recognized the person and call Crime Stoppers to share what they know.
