Crime of the Week
October 2, 2007
This week Nashville Crime Stoppers is offering a reward of $1000 cash for clues called in to 74-CRIME that help solve this bank robbery of the SunTrust bank in Joelton.
On Friday, August 24, 2007 at approximately 2:10 in the afternoon a man entered the SunTrust bank located at 7185 Whites Creek Pike in Joelton and stood in line to wait for a teller. When a teller became available he walked to the window and gave her a note that demanded money. When she did not comply quickly enough he ordered her to give him the money and put his hand behind a satchel he wore around his neck and indicated that he had a weapon. She emptied her drawer and set the money on the counter. He picked it up, put it under his shirt, and walked out of the bank. Witnesses saw him walk behind the bank to a softball park and enter a silver or gray colored Dodge minivan. He got into the passenger side of the van which detectives believe was driven by another person.
The robber appears to be a male white about five feet nine inches tall and around 140 pounds. He looked to be in his 20’s. He wore a blue ball cap, a white button up shirt and light colored pants. He wore a satchel with the strap over his shoulder.
