This week Nashville crime stoppers is offering a reward of $1000 cash for clues called in to 74-CRIME that help solve this robbery of the Bank of America on Church Street near downtown.
On Thursday, July 20th at approximately 12:35 during the lunch hour, a man walked into the Bank of America at 1634 Church Street and asked for some coin wrappers. When the teller started to give them to him, he slipped her a note demanding money. As the teller read the note, the robber said “Just give me money or I will kill you or someone in the bank.” The teller gave the robber the cash that was in her drawer and the man left the bank.
The robber was described as being a male white in his 50’s. He was about six foot three inches tall and weighed close to 225 pounds. At the time of the robbery, he was wearing a dark ball cap with the Los Angeles Dodgers emblem and a dark t-shirt which read “Full Throttle”. He was also described as having bad teeth and a scruffy beard.
The FBI’s violent crime task force is seeking the public’s help. This robbery occurred during the busy lunch hour and they hope that someone may have seen him get into a car or that they may recognize the man from the excellent photos of the robbery.
