This week Nashville Crime Stoppers is offering a reward of $1000 cash for clues called in to 74-CRIME that help solve the murder of Ebadollah Ghorbani during the robbery of Omid’s Market in south Nashville.

On Monday, November 20, 2006 at approximately 10 minutes after seven in the evening, two masked men entered Omid’s Market at 106 Rains Ave. to commit a robbery. One of the men pointed a gun at the owner and his family while the other emptied the cash register. As they started to leave Mr. Ghorbani and his son fought with the men. The one with the gun forced his way back into the store and shot Mr. Ghorbani in the chest. They fled on foot toward the state fairgrounds. Mr. Ghorbani was transported to a hospital where he died during surgery.

Both men are believed to be young male whites. One wore a grey hooded sweatshirt and a white bandana over the lower half of his face. The other wore a black hooded sweatshirt which came down during the robbery and showed his profile on camera. One of the men suffered a small cut on his head which he received during the struggle.
