Crime of the Week

January 16, 2007

This week Nashville Crime Stoppers is offering a reward of $1000 cash for clues called in to 74-CRIME that help solve this robbery of Dick’s Sporting Goods on North Gallatin Pike in Madison.

On Friday, November 24, 2007 at approximately 20 minutes after ten in the evening, three masked men with handguns entered the cash office at Dick’s Sporting Goods at 2305 North Gallatin Pike and ordered the employees to get on the floor. Two men held the employees at gunpoint while the third emptied the cash register bags into a backpack. After getting all the money from the cash office they went back into the sales area of the store. Nobody saw the three leave the store so swat officers responded to the scene to ensure that the suspects were gone and the employees were safe.

All three gunmen wore black hooded sweatshirts and dark pants. One witness reported that one of the men had a tattoo on the right side of his neck with the name “Nita” in it. The witness could not see the entire tattoo but was sure of those four letters. All three men appeared to be male black subjects.

If you have information which might help Metro Police solve this robbery of Dick’s Sporting Goods on North Gallatin Pike in Madison, call Crime Stoppers. If the arrest results in the arrest and prosecution, you could be eligible for a cash reward of $1000.
