Sex Crimes Section
The Sex Crimes Section is a part of the Criminal Investigation Division of the Investigative Services Bureau. The section investigates adult and youth sexual assault cases and handles sex offender registration. The sexual crimes investigated include violations such as indecent exposure, peeping tom, sexual battery and rape.
The section is open from 7:30 AM to 11 PM, Monday through Friday. However, detectives are on-call 24 hours a day to assist in matters requiring their specialized training and services.
The members of the Sex Crimes Section are dedicated to providing the utmost in professional investigative services to the victims of sexual crimes. We are committed to doing so in a sensitive and compassionate manner with respect for the rights of both the victims we serve and those accused.
The Sex Crimes Section also is committed to the prevention of sex crimes. Section members are available to speak at civic, social, neighborhood or other organized groups about rape and rape prevention.
